works on paper

ENCAUSTIC MONOTYPES are individually produced works on paper. A mixture of beeswax, damar resin, and archival pigment is applied to a heated aluminium plate, manipulated to create the image, then transferred to the paper. Each image is unique, and cannot be reproduced in an edition. My monotypes, on Japanese rice papers or cotton printmaking paper, are sold matted and framed under glass. Caring for your encaustic monotype.

This new series of encaustic monotypes, Hello, Goodbye: Ghosts and Shadows, is inspired by meditations on beginnings, endings, and their cyclical natures that often blur the distinction between the two. The titles evoke birth, struggle, and renewal.
