ENCAUSTIC MONOTYPE

ENCAUSTIC MONOTYPES are one-of-a-kind paintings on paper. Instead of painting on. a rigid wood surface, I use a mixture of beeswax and archival pigments applied to a heated aluminum plate. The wax paint can then be manipulated to create an image, which is transferred to the paper. Each image is unique, and cannot be reproduced in an edition. My monotypes on Japanese Kozo rice papers are sold with acid-free backing and matted to fit standard frame sizes. They come in a protective cellophane sleeve. Some have been framed using the same materials.
