INVITE FRIENDS, AND ENJOY A WAXY WORKSHOP IN YOUR HOME. I’m currently offering two different mini-workshops conducted in your home for 4-6 people (depends on space). Learn the art of encaustic monotype and create one-of-a-kind images by transferring melted pigmented beeswax onto Japanese Kozo rice paper. Or light up a cozy evening with radiant votives adorned in artful covers that have the special glow of beeswax.
Encaustic Monotypes
NO PREVIOUS ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED. These workshops are ideal for emerging artists open to experimenting with materials and happy accidents. Aa a previous participant exclaimed, “Hey! I made this! I’m an artist!”
Enjoy a morning or afternoon of creativity and companionship.
All materials are provided. Each participant will leave with at least one finished piece ready to display or give as a gift. (Eight-inch votive candle, or a 5x7 matted/framed monotype.) Additional candles and frames will be available to purchase.
Each 3-hour workshop includes an introduction to the materials, examples of finished pieces, modeling and practice of the techniques, and a resource guide for further exploration.
Customize your workshop by including your own snacks, beverages, discussion topic, or even a unique setting.

The small print:
All workshops involve the use of high heat to make art. The monotype workshop uses heated pigments. Standard home ventilation systems are adequate. Participants accept all responsibility for observing provided safety instructions.
Participants under 18 will be required to have a parent or adult guardian sign a release. Suggested age minimum of 13. It is highly suggested that students 13-16 be accompanied by an enrolled adult. Images of participant work products, and/or participants may be used in future marketing. This will be discussed in class. Please contact instructor about exceptions.
CANCELLATION POLICY: All classes are prepaid. Cancellations within 14 days before the start of the workshop will receive 50% of the price paid in refund. Cancellations 7 days or less receive no refund. Classes cancelled by instructor will be refunded in full.
